The Sunburst #ShareYourShutters Winner for Fall 2017

Gary Harding

Shout outs to Sunburst’s newest #ShareYourShutters winner: Chelsey Rushworth! Her winning submission to #ShareYourShutters shows two rooms decked out with beautiful new Polywood interior plantation shutters that beautifully accentuate both her home’s architecture and her own unique style.

Chelsey, who some may recognize on Instagram as Taste of Coffey, is a Boston-based home designer who definitely has a penchant for stylish color schemes. A quick look at her space shows how she intersperses both neutral and brighter tones for a look that’s warm and calming, but with an undeniable sense of flair.

She even has a few pieces of advice for DIYers in Colorado Springs and around the country:

  • Have a color scheme in mind. When you design a room, you can always adjust colors to customize it. Be sure to pull in shades either from your home’s color scheme or ones that can complement it.

  • Be adaptable in your color usage. I picked white shutters and most of my furniture includes shades of gray, both weathered wood and fabric. So I chose to mix in splashes of white and color accents.

Not only does Chelsey pick some fantastic color combos, but the use of space in her house is on point, too. From her chairs that guide the eyes vertically to the wall and her plantation shutters, to the way her shelving lines up perfectly under the window, Chelsey’s space is fashion-forward, functional, and very cozy without ever looking overdecorated.

As our contest winner for Fall, Chelsey will receive a gift card to a Boston-area restaurant, in addition to having her designs featured here. To see more of her work, visit her personal site at

And if you think the shutters in your home look great enough to be our next winner, share them on Facebook or Instagram with the hashtag #ShareYourShutters. We want to see another Colorado Springs house to take next season’s prize!
